Old versions do not receive security updates. Unless you have a specific compatibility reason, use the current version.
The US Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has confirmed that these vulnerabilities in older versions of 7-Zip were used in real attacks. Keep the program up to date:
