Frequently asked questions

Is WizTree free to use?

WizTree is free for personal use. Commercial environments require the purchase of a business license.

Why is WizTree faster than traditional disk analyzers?

On NTFS drives, it reads the Master File Table (MFT) directly from the disk rather than querying the operating system for each file individually.

Can WizTree scan non-NTFS drives?

Yes. It scans non-NTFS drives (such as FAT32, exFAT, or network drives) using standard file system traversal.
